Last week Lake Geneva lost a good man. To say he was my friend grossly diminishes the relationship we had. David Mulligan, or Dirt as everyone called him, was more than just a friend to me. He was like an older brother. He looked out for me. He made sure I was OK when he knew I was going through tough times. When I was feeling blue, he always new how to put a smile back on my face. He was there for me when I needed a ride to Madison and no matter what the circumstances, we always had a good time. He was the most authentic man I have ever met. He never shied away from telling anybody exactly how he felt. He knew what he liked and did what he liked. He was full of compassion and kindness. He could make friends with anyone anywhere. There wasn't a single soul in Lake Geneva who didn't know who he was. His passing has left a huge hole in my heart and the hearts of a thousand other people. I like to think that he finally made that move down to the keys working at a little bar on a sandy beach somewhere.

I love you Dirt. This isn't goodbye, this is see ya later.
