3D printing from home is something I only recently started, but I tell you, that machine barely gets a rest. We've printed everything from wall brackets to drain plugs to custom game cases. As much as I love Shapeways, there is something about being able to print what you want when you want it and at a fraction of the cost of getting it from Shapeways with no added shipping. The biggest drawback is we can only print in one material with our printer, and that is PLA which is a type of biodegradable plastic.

Here are a few of the things I've 3D printed from home.

And here is a LED diffuser that Brian printed while playing with his code for a fairy light for me. :)

This is just a couple examples of things we've made. What is cool is I can now 3D print anything that I have already made for IMVU whenever I want. I've already received a few requests for my skeeball game. By making a few adjustments to the model I could even make it so the balls roll through the game and back to the starting port.

Christmas Requests

Thanksgiving is just a couple days away and before long Christmas music will be playing non-stop on every single radio station. Finding the perfect gift becomes the number one priority on many peoples minds. Personalized and unique gifts are usually well received and I would like to give you another cheap option of giving that perfect gift.

I have been working on setting up a small shop on this site, but in the mean time I would still like to give you the opportunity to purchase something from me that I can print on my personal 3D printer for a fraction of the cost of buying if from Shapeways.

IMVU Project: Frankenstein Candy Dish

First and foremost, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! This is most definitely my favorite holiday. I wanted to show you a project that I made for IMVUs free gift. Available if you log in today only. :)

The Frankenstein Candy Dish. Basically it's just Frankestein's monster sitting on the ground holding a bowl full of candy corn. There are a couple of sitting poses in the bowl with one eating the candy and a couple more sitting on the bowl's ledge. There are also a couple of animated standing spots just outside the bowl with avatars looking a bit frightened of the monster. Just like my last IMVU project, the idea belonged to IMVU, I just put it together and brought them what they asked for. Honestly, I think this little guy is kinda cute. So cute in fact that I decided to 3D print the thing to see how it would look in real life. I wasn't dissapointed. :D Below I have images of how the print evolved, starting with it in the printer with supports, ending with it fully painted. Enjoy!
